Knitted Clogs

November 18, 2006

These were fun and quick to make. There’s a pattern from Fiber Trends and you use a double strand of wool yarn. The wool I used is 85% wool and 15% mohair so they’re kinda furry. I think I’ll use 100% wool and make a pair each for Vince and Chad and see what I think of those. You can knit them with the sole being one yarn, the main part being a second and then the cuff being either the same as the main, the same as the cuff or using a third color. I was thinking I should make us all a pair of red/green for Christmas but maybe that should wait til next Christmas!

The picture above is when they were just knitted and not yet felted. The one on the right side looks a little bigger but I think it’s because that was the one I knitted first and then Speck had managed to try to curl up inside it already.

Here they are all felted, though still wet. They say they will take on the shape of your feet after you’ve worn them for a while. Can’t wait for them to dry so I can try them out.

They look really cute once they’re felted. I wore one of the wool hats I knitted tonight when we walked to dinner. It was great – nice and warm and I made it myself!

Ooohhh – too cute! I just ordered FIVE patterns from that site and told them it was because of you! Maybe when my son takes a nap I will have a chance to check out some yarn, but at least the patterns are on the way to me!

Cheers!

Evelyn
