You all know how I hate shopping. I’m almost to the point where I don’t even like shopping for fabric.
This morning Vince said “I’m trying to decide if I want to go to Joplin” which really means . . I’ll throw out the idea and see how loudly Judy squawks. I’m leaving Thursday for a week in Louisiana so, not wanting him to feel neglected, I said I’d go if he wanted to. In 5 minutes we were off to Joplin.
Vince is chomping at the bit to get that new TV. He’s done all the research and I mean . . ALL the research and he knows exactly which one he wants. We go to Best Buy and the salesman there kinda steers him towards a different model. I’m in the background saying . . let’s go to Sam’s and see what they have first. We go to Sam’s and there’s the model we want so Vince talks to the salesman and makes sure that’s the best model for us. 30 minutes later the guy checks to see if they have the model in stock. NO! They do not. We go to other places – I can’t even remember where all we go. One place was Target where I found some decent wood book cases to put down in the quilting room. Got those then we stopped at Sears. Went through all the questions with the TV salesman and Vince decided he’d get his second choice since Sears didn’t have the Samsung in stock that he wanted. So, the guy checks to see if they have it in stock . . NO! They do not.
Forget the TV, we’re tired, the dog’s been in the crate too long so we head home.
We were out of deli meat so we decided to stop by Wal-Mart. While we’re there, we might as well look at the TV’s. Guess what they had . . the exact model Vince wanted, same price at Sam’s . . right here in town.
So, we have three new book cases, a new TV and I got to eat Japanese food while in Joplin. Can’t ask for much more than that, right?

The TV must be a guy thing! We just purchased a new TV about a month ago–had to be a certain model–newest technology–yada, yada, yada. I guess I can’t complain, I have the long arm in the basement where his rec room and TV used to be! *VBG*
Your shopping excursions are always such adventures! LOL. Good for you to finding bookcases that will work. Now DH will have the new TV to play with while you’re in Louisiana!

I hate shopping too! At least you got some bookcases and a meal out of it. I’m really loving my shelves from IKEA, they’re working great for me and I love the bins for keeping fat quarters and leftover bits and pieces. I can pull it right off the shelf and take it into the other room where I have my cutting table. I thought I would miss my built in shelves from the Marietta house but these are even better.
There is a saying: The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.
When I was younger I loved to shop now I hate it.
Have a great time in Louisiana!
Sounds like a good shopping trip since you got everything you needed, and then some, even though you did have to try many stores.
Sounds like a most successful day for everyone.
