Sunday Accomplishments

March 18, 2007

I did get to sew a little today. I made two pillowcases and four more string blocks. Mary correctly informed me that I missed the point of making the string blocks and I turned them into something difficult which is about what I always do.

I’m also posting a picture of another pair of socks I finished recently using the basic sock pattern I keep making over and over again. I love this pattern — I don’t have to count anything and they fit nicely. These were made from some Opal magic yarn.

You’ve been busy! Love the pillowcase, and the socks are fantastic!

Can’t wait to see your strings put together. It’ll be great!

Love the socks, I’m rounding the heel of my next pair too.

Can you offer any suggestions about yarn changes? I don’t think I should just knot two pieces together, don’t think that would feel so good! My next pair is athletic gray with a red toe, heel and stripe near the top, lol.

Those pillowcases make such great gifts. I really like how your string blocks are coming. It’s going to be a beautiful quilt!

Love those string blocks. I’ll have to try some more co-ordinated ones like yours. would look great as a whole quilt.

Somehow I missed this post of yours! You know I only meant to say that string blocks are an opportunity to just relax and let whatever happens happen – your blocks look wonderful. You’ll probably inspire those people who don’t usually like the completely scrappy look of my string blocks to try a more coordinated approach.
