We spent the evening car shopping. Living in a small town is funny and I never realized how different things are in small/medium/large cities. I’ve never lived in a large city like New York or Atlanta but to me, Lake Charles, Louisiana was large. There were car dealers with lots of vehicles [...]

Cheering Myself Up
May 30th, 2007 · 6 Comments
I’m not going to sit here and cry over some ugly piece of red steel but that’s surely what I felt like doing. I remind myself that none of us are sick, we have the means to buy another vehicle, so . . get over it. OK. OK! I’ll get over [...]

Goodbye S-10
May 30th, 2007 · 11 Comments
The poor truck — blew the engine. A new one will be between $3,000 and $3,500. I don’t think we’re going to fix it. Guess we’ll dig a big hole and have an S-10 funeral . . not sure what else to do with one that looks almost new but doesn’t run.

Truck Update
May 29th, 2007 · 7 Comments
I really let things like this bother me. Vince doesn’t worry about anything .. he truly doesn’t, but I worry about things over which I have no control and that’s crazy.
I guess I haven’t been really worried about the truck but it’s kinda been in the back of my mind all day. I [...]

Back in the Routine

I love my family so . . this isn’t really a rant . . as may seem.

May 28th, 2007 · 11 Comments
All the recipes on my menu have been tried and we like them (or I wouldn’t be fixing them again!). If ever I have a brand new, never tried by me recipe, I’ll make a note beside it that’s it’s new to me.
If you go to Laura’s blog, you’ll find a whole bunch [...]

Saturday Happenings
May 26th, 2007 · 15 Comments
Actually, there’s not much happening around here at all. I’ve been quilting most of the day. I have customer quilts that need to be done and in the mail Tuesday. I’ve got one more to do and then I can spend some time piecing. I can’t just quilt all the time [...]

Ice Cream Maker
May 25th, 2007 · 13 Comments
Now no one will feel sorry for me for sure. I have this ice cream maker. It’s been unpacked and it’s set up on a shelf in the garage where I will leave it and use it out there because I don’t want it sitting on the counter in the kitchen and it’s [...]

Why I’d Rather Eat at Home
May 24th, 2007 · 5 Comments
This happened at the Chinese restaurant where Vince used to love to eat. It certainly isn’t the restaurant’s fault but . . still makes me want to eat at home instead of eating in a restaurant.
