Since I’ve been posting my Menu Monday Plan over on Laura’s blog, I’ve had quite a few people ask me if I really cook all the stuff listed on my menu. I really do! We very rarely go out to eat. I like to cook, I love being at home, and we have so very few restaurant choices where we live. I’m not against going out to eat, but for the most part, I much prefer to eat at home and I prefer to have something really good!
The picture shows what I cooked today. I made two loaves of bread, a batch of Jailhouse Rolls, a double batch of Chicken Creole (half is in that bowl going to Erica to feed the Griffons), the rice and chocolate cake went to Erica, the gooey butter cake stayed home with us. Also today, I fixed German potato salad, smoked baby back ribs and baked beans. That was our dinner for tonight. Tomorrow we’ll have the chicken creole.
Although almost all day was spent in the kitchen today, I’ll have very little time in there tomorrow since the chicken creole is already made.

Do you ship? I don’t like to cook anymore and besides, the temps and humidity are too high to tax the air conditioner any further…..I’ll pay shipping!!!!!
OMG, that looks so good! Just give me a tub of butter and a loaf of that bread and I’d be a happy camper! LOL
I love to cook too. My only gripe is while I do love to cook, I feel that some days that I am spending too much time in the kitchen.
I have a friend that would spend her Saturday mornings preparing some of the meals for the coming week. I have been thinking about doing that. Also, I have never doubled anything to freeze for a later date. Maybe I need to try that.
Tomorrow morning I will be in my kitchen getting potato salad, deviled eggs, and a cheese cake ready for the 4th! Not to mention the casserole I need to make for supper tomorrow night!!!
Boy, I would have loved to have been in your kitchen when all this good stuff was being made! I used to be a pretty good cook, but lost interest when the kids left home and quilting took over. I still have periodic spurts of cooking or baking, but they are getting fewer and farther inbetween.
Judy, would you share the recipe for the Jailhouse rolls? Just the title sounds interesting. Dee in NE
