Santa on Speed

Remember the Gratitudes quilt that was based on one I had seen on Jeanne‘s blog? (The linkis to Jeanne’s blog — not to her quilt.) That’s what I’m using for this Christmas quilt. It’s so fun to make. The area that looks pink in the photo is really white with red dot. Some of the packages Santa has are wrapped in white with red dots. The very top border is from a striped border print type fabric that was shown here. The just Santa and packages border was from the fabric shown here.

For years I’ve avoided making square quilts. They’re actually easier to design than rectangular quilts, especially when there’s a pieced border. Last week I decided to measure our queen size bed and figure out what size quilts I want to make when making quilts for my own bed and guess what . . I want them to be square . . about 90″ x 90″. I like for the top to go up under my pillows. Here’s the design drawn out in EQ.

    Judy,
I clicked on the Gratitude quilt, but didn’t see it on her blog. I love your pattern for the Christmas quilt. Is it possible to get more information about this pattern? It looks so Christmasy! Fun!
