Still no pictures. Very little sewing going on. Just a bit of knitting happening here and there.

I had lunch with my old boss, John, today at DeAngelo’s. It’s a new restaurant that wasn’t here when I lived here. We had some kind of yummy shrimp appetizer and then we both got Shrimp & Crawfish Diavolo and it was really good too. Why does the food here have to be so darned good?

John and I butted heads a few times when we worked together but I like him so much. During the 20+ years that I worked for attorneys, I only worked for three and all of them were really good guys. I enjoyed working with John the best and still have such great respect for him. He seems happy and is doing a great job as District Attorney here and I’m so proud of him. I showed him my book and he’s proud of me too so we patted each other on the back, had some good laughs about things from the past, talked about our families and agreed to have lunch again next time I’m in town.

I was able to spend some time with my niece’s three girls today. They are so cute! The little one is four and I was laughing at her today til I had tears streaming down my face. I wish I could spend more time with those kids. The oldest one is 10 and she started knitting when I was here last time. She’s so busy with school work and extra activities that she hardly has time for anything so I told her we’d spend a lot of time together this summer and she would know how to knit socks by the time school starts next year.

No plans for tomorrow . . I hope! That means maybe I’ll get a bit more sewing done.
