I have a new great nephew! Keaton was born Thursday and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. My niece is a tiny little thing and the doctor always induces a few weeks early because he doesn’t want her babies to be any more than 7 pounds. He kinda missed it with this one. They already have 3 girls and were so happy to be having a boy. They’re the cutest family and I can’t wait to see him. It’s amazing that I left about 10 days before crawfish will be available and 3 days before Kristy had Keaton. On the other hand, if I’d stayed a day longer, I’d have been in big trouble at home with Vince, Chad and Speck.
What did I accomplish today? Nothing!! Absolutely nothing. Saturdays are usually lazy around here but today seemed extra lazy. We all stayed home all day except Chad is at his friend’s house for the evening. We had our typical big breakfast – biscuits, bacon, eggs, grits. Then we had fried shrimp for dinner. The kitchen still needs some extra cleaning after frying the shrimp but they were so yummy!
I had been on a waiting list to join the Ravelry knitting group/community and was finally invited in yesterday. It’s such a neat place! You have a “notebook” where you can keep all your yarn, your projects, your things you have in que, etc. and you can put pictures. Here’s part of what I put up for my sock yarn stash. There’s something about photographing and documenting every inch of yarn that makes me really not want to buy any more for a very, very long time. 2008 is going to be the year I buy nothing — no fabric, no yarn . . nothing!!
Tomorrow we’re going on a family trip. It’s finally cool enough that we can go on a full day trip and leave Speck in the car if we stop to eat or something. We’re headed up around Stockton Lake and maybe over to Lake of the Ozarks just to see if we happen upon a lake house that we can’t live without. Stockton is closer but there are few, if any, houses directly on the water because of Corp restrictions. We’ll see what’s out there and will probably remember how much trouble it was maintaining two places and will decide to buy nothing but it will still be fun to be out sightseeing for the day.
