Here’s a summary of my stash busting efforts:
- Finished the pink quilt, made totally from the stash.
- Found 5+ yards of pink fabric in the stash that is suitable for the backing.
- Found suitable fabric for the binding and made the binding. (All I need to do is get the top quilted.
- Discovered I’m running out of my favorite red fabric and made the decision to use something else to bind the quilt that I had really planned on using that favorite red fabric for the binding. The victory here is that I didn’t get online and order more of the red fabric!
- Determined that if I reduce my fabric stash by one third or at least enough that I can get it on two shelving units instead of one, I can re-arrange my sewing room to create a much better space than what I currently have. The victory here is that I can envision a pleasant, organized sewing room and now a room full of clutter with wall to wall “stuff”.
In summary:
- I bought zero fabric.
- I used quite a bit of fabric.
- I feel very determined, very empowered that I can do this!
All all the items listed in my stash busting efforts were detailed in blog posts during the past week if anyone would like to read more about it.

Kudo to you!
I think you’re off to an awesome start!
