My Report – Week #1 – 1/6/08

This past week, I used:

2-1/2 yards wide muslin for the backing on the quilt I finished quilting Friday night.
3/4 yard of green for the binding, which is now attached and waiting for the handwork.

I didn’t buy any fabric, didn’t buy any yarn.

It was a good week. Anyone have any idea how long it will take before we notice a difference in the stash? As others are doing, I’m working hard on some UFO’s and that’s not using fabric very quickly because most of them have the blocks already made or have the fabric stuck in the box already, and I’m not using fabric from my shelves.

I’m pleased with my progress and pleased that I have no desire to buy anything.

You may not be using fabric but finishing a UFO is like using up a shelf full! It is such a good feeling. Keep going. You’ll need to use the stash for the backs once the UFO tops are done. LOL

Good for you! But if you’re working on UFOs, those boxes are taking up space in your stash room! So finish up those quilts and get them out of there!!! (Hugs)

i was wondering that myself–how long before I start to notice a difference? and will I have the willpower not to just build it back up again?

I know what you mean in not wanting to buy new at this time. Great Job on the quilt by the way. Finishing UFO’s and WIP’s is becoming my way of planning for future projects without feeling guilty. It makes the finish so much sweeter and satisfing.

That is fantastic Judy! It is using up the space and getting something finished that is great and your quilt top is fantastic. I love the quilt!
