QFAH Cutting Instructions

October 3, 2008

There’s a mistake on the Quilt for an Hour cutting instructions. I’m so sorry!  I really hate it when that happens and I try hard to make sure it doesn’t happen.

On the instructions, it says:

Cut 5 – 2-1/2″ strips.  Cut these into 25 – 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips.

You’re not going to get 25 strips from those 5 strips.  You’ll probably only get 20.  Here are a couple of “workarounds”:

  1. Be real careful when cutting your 4-1/2″ squares from the 2 strips and you may have enough to get 2 more 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips from there.
  2. Be real careful when cutting your 3-1/2″ squares from the 3-1/2″ strip and you may be able to get 3 more 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips from there.
  3. You may just have to cut one more 2-1/2″ strip and cut the 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ strips from there.

Since I listed 2 yards as the requirements, there’s enough fabric to cut another 2-1/2″ strip if needed.

I can’t make changes on the Fabric Requirements page til I get home.

I’m so sorry for the mistake!

I haven’t cut my strips into segments yet (and i’m making one fewer rows of stars) so this works just fine for me.
