There’s a lot of quilting in this top but it was fun. Finished it this afternoon.
A couple of closer shots of some of the quilting.
I’ll post pictures of the whole thing once the binding is done.

There’s a lot of quilting in this top but it was fun. Finished it this afternoon.
A couple of closer shots of some of the quilting.
I’ll post pictures of the whole thing once the binding is done.
Does time pass so quickly for you? Does it seem like just yesterday we were hearing about all the things that could go haywire when the year 2000 arrived? Can you believe that was 10 years ago? A whole decade has passed since then.
Any plans or resolutions for 2010? Think how quickly the years roll by and then a decade has come and gone before we know it. That’s one of the things that keeps me moving as quickly as I do — so much to do/so little time.
My challenge to you all: If there’s something you’ve been wanting to do . . make 2010 the year you do it! Just tell yourself right now that you’re going to get it done in 2010.
Two things come to mind as things I had wanted to do for so many years and did them in 2009. One was getting chickens. I had begged for chickens for so long . . at least 10 years. Vince finally agreed and we both love having them. I wish we’d had them a long time ago. They’re a bit of work but what isn’t? I believe all my blog readers know how much I love my chickens.
The second thing is making hot tamales. For years I’ve said I was going to learn to do it and never did. About this time last year, I said to myself that I was going to make tamales before the end of this year and I did. I kept asking people who might know how to make them if they would help me and couldn’t find anyone who would admit to knowing how to make them. Finally, at almost the end of the year, I just said . . you’re never going to get it done if you don’t just do it yourself . . and I did. Once I made them, they’re so easy (though a bit time consuming) to make and we love them. Absolutely love them!
Chris wrote on her blog about making artisan bread/pizza for the first time and loving it. I think they’ve bought their last storebought pizza!
What are you putting off doing . . either because you’re afraid of failure or maybe it’s just something that keeps running through the back of your head but you haven’t really grasped the idea and committed to trying it? Maybe it’s making bread, maybe it’s using the pressure cooker, maybe it’s learning to knit socks, maybe it’s learning to use Electric Quilt, maybe it’s more serious — a job change, getting finances in order, getting a 22 year old out on his own (oh . . wait . . that’s my desire!) . . no matter how large or how small, I’ll always believe that unless I first commit to myself, and then put the plan into action, too many things in life pass us by. It’s MY life and I’m going to live it to the fullest. What’s “full” for me, isn’t “full” for others. We all have to find our own way — our own way to happiness and living a fulfilled life. Don’t wish for the things others have or do. Live your own life without comparing what you do or have to anyone else.
Are you doing what you want to be doing? If your life headed in the direction you want to be headed? Are there things you’ve always wanted to do and haven’t done? What are you waiting for? Yesterday is gone, today will be gone before we know it . . please figure out how to do the things you want to do . . and do it before the end of 2010!
Please have a happy and safe New Year’s Eve and a wonderful 2010!
It’s not a great video . . unless you would enjoy seeing my arm up close but it’s the best I can do by myself trying to quilt and video. Some day I’ll get Vince to help me and get a better video. Maybe it can give you some ideas for helping with your feathers.
And, here’s a picture of the progress I made quilting today. I should be able to finish it tomorrow.
For the colored rectangles and squares, I’m stitching in the ditch along the black edge and then doing a diagonal stitch through each piece.
Unless this is your very first day to read my blog (if it is, please come back again soon!), then you know two electronic items I dearly love have been missing. One is my beloved iPod and the second is my BlackBerry that I still have a love/hate relationship with.
The iPod is a bit illusive. I lost it and then about a week later, I found it. But then I lost it again. I promised myself I would never ever lose it again. I would always put it back in the exact same spot . . forever and ever . . I would never lose it again. Til June of this year (I casually mentioned it in this post), I lost the iPod again. Truly, I spent days searching for it and couldn’t find it anywhere so I said to myself . . I’ve wasted enough time looking for this thing and purchased a new one.
Six months later . . I have not lost the new iPod not even once. When we’re going somewhere — trip, doctor’s appointment, Home Depot . . most anywhere — I always grab a bag with a knitting project, the Kindle, the iPod, or whatever else I feel like grabbing. My theory was that I would find the iPod in a bag somewhere with a knitting project. I was wrong.
Yesterday Vince found it in his junkroom office.
I never go into his office . . ever! It’s scary in there. The charging base was with the iPod and I never use the charging base because my docking station charges the iPod. I must have had the iPod and charging base with me when we went on spring break last year and we’re thinking it got packed with some of Vince’s stuff. I’m very happy to have it back because it has a whole bunch of books from when I was a member of Audible and I no longer have those files.
I am never going to lose it again . . ever!
About that BlackBerry . . still haven’t found it and I doubt we ever do.

Yes, my April list is the same as the March list because none of them got done!
One got done!
Done!
One got done!
5 more blocks were made, 5 more to make
