Quilt-Along?

Any interest in a Quilt-Along?  I was thinking if there’s enough interest, it would work something like this:

  1. I’d show you the quilt you’ll be making and you can then decide if you want to play along.
  2. Fabric suggestions/yardage requirements will be given.  At this point, I’ll take sign ups for anyone wanting to do it.  If you commit and can’t continue, no problem . . don’t feel pressured.  Quilting is supposed to be fun, remember?  Any quilts done with this project will be designed to be made from the stash, unless your stash is very small.
  3. I’ll email the first set of instructions to you and give you a deadline . . plenty of time  . . like a week or 10 days.  On or before the deadline, you send me back a photo of your completed task or post it on your blog and give me a link to your blog.
  4. The next set of instructions will be emailed only to those who have completed the previous instructions.

If you’re interested in this project, send me an email at [email protected]

More About Quilting Gallery

I should have put this in the first post today but why say everything in one post when I can drag it out over the whole day, right?

One night I was playing around on Quilting Gallery, looking at quilters in my neighborhood, that being Kansas, Arkansas, and, of course, Missouri.  I came across a blog for a lady who is also a longarm quilter and she lives about 20  miles from me.  I wrote her and said “Did you know you’re my neighbor?”  She wrote me back and said “Yes, I did know.  In fact, I saw your son at McDonald’s in El Dorado Springs one day but figured he would think I was goofy if I said something to him.”  Isn’t that funny . . she recognized Chad from my blog!  Well, I thought it was kinda funny! :)

But, you really never know who’s out there.  Don’t think too hard about that . . there are bad people but mostly there are good people – quilters, knitters, people who like to do the things you like to day and they’re very easy to local through Quilting Gallery.

Quilting Gallery

Are you familiar with the Quilting Gallery?  There’s a button for them down over on my right side bar.  It’s a real fun place to visit!  Quilt shops are listed by state, as are bloggers.  I often check there to see what the bloggers in my neighborhood are doing.

Michele, the chief quilter over at the Quilting Gallery, asked me to be one of the guest bloggers for  Guest Blogger Month.  Since I love to talk (bet you hadn’t noticed!), I was thrilled and I think my blurb will show up next week.  Anyway, check it out.  You’ll get to know some quilters you may not know and get to know more about some of the quilters you’re more familiar with.

Thanks Michele for hosting the Quilting Gallery and for inviting me to be a guest blogger.
