Design Wall Monday

dsc06970

Sad to report that not a single thing has changed on my design wall since last Monday.  Yesterday I planned to stop binding and piece for for the day but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.  There are still too many quilts to be bound.  Next week, I absolutely will have something new on the design wall.  I kept thinking . . I have to have something new to show! But, I just couldn’t make the time to do it.  It isn’t like I haven’t been busy so I don’t feel bad but I do want to piece so badly!  Next week!

What’s on your design wall?

Good Monday morning everyone who enjoys Judy’s blog! Judy, I hope you have a great week with lots of piecing.

I think we all have weeks like that, Judy…especially during the summer months! If it hadn’t been for the Ami Simms workshop, I wouldn’t have anything new to show this week either!

Got a lot of work done on the house–not so much on the quilting. I still am grateful for your idea, Judy, and the opportunity to keep myself on track. Every time I read about the chicken coop I have to laugh. I have 3 brothers and a niece who are engineers.

    Judy,
I’ve had the same piece on my design wall for about 3 months so I’m not showing it to anyone!! Can you share what you told Mary to help keep her on track?

I have a question for you. On customer quilts, do you trim? If you do, how much do you trim? If not, why not? This has been a topic of conversations lately.

I didn’t post last week because nothing had changed. So last week I worked very hard to get that quilt done and get something else up on the wall. Now, I guess, I will have to work on something else for next week. Slave driver!

Not much sewing this week. DH had an emergency admission to the hospital, and the time there and the worry was not conducive to quilting. Right now I don’t have any handwork ready, so I read books while he was napping. This week should be better after my new glasses arrive.

Thanks again, Judy, for coming up with a way to keep us all motivated!

Here’s my post for this week. I already got more done this afternoon thanks to a toddler nap:) Will post again on Wed. so you can come back then too , if you’d like. I love seeing everyone else making such great quilts – or at least starting them!

Judy – I haven’t done nary a thing this week as far as sewing – other than to stack two quilt rows up so that when I get a minute I can add the sashing – -but decided I needed some inspiration on my design wall – so check it out. :-)

I’ll have to look through the links another day. Between my keyboard and the power, it’s taken me forever to just do my post.

  12. Julianne says:

I have not been able to check out the links yet. We have had a lot of storms and I have to run the quilting machine when I can. I am not getting a lot of piecing done but I am doing a lot of planning. Should read DREAMING !!!!

I’m ashamed to say my design wall has had the same 9 Sunbonnet Sue blocks on it for over a year. I hope that’s going to change soon because I want to make a couple of doll blankets for my 3 yr. old granddaughter. The problem? They are all too much alike and I need more variety. But her dollies won’t care. I have been sewing though, making pillowcases, just not pinning up my quilt blocks on the wall.
