My Next Project

October 13, 2009

No picture of the project because this one might be a mystery for a retreat next you.  But, I can show the fabrics I might use.  This quilt needs a light background and a dark background, a light and dark of one color and an accent color.

Could use this:

There seems to always be a demand for purple and gold quilts (LSU and school colors for my niece’s kids).

Or, I could use this:

DSC08380

This is probably a better choice.  So much not my colors but . . they’re in my stash and they have to be used so I can buy all those Dimples fabrics!  :)

I like the second set. I’m sure whichever you choose, the quilt will be very nice.

I vote for the second set, too. After your post about dimples, I was on a large fabric site. I’m sure you know the one located in a ski state. It’s incredible how many dimples there are. I’ve used them liberally, and they make me feel good. I could hardly restrain myself!

p.s
in the first set i think the dark purple is too strong for the light purple. try substituting a medium purple and use a medium green for the accent color (think Spring pansies)

I vote for the second set, too, although I don’t think you asked for votes! LOL.

I like the second grouping best. Maybe because they are fall colors and it feels like autumn, or make that winter, has come all at once!

Yes, definitely the second set for me. I just love autumn colours, they are the colours of the leaves I can see from sewing room window right now.

Those decisions are always so hard for me that I usually try to do both and end up doing nothing.

The second picture may not be your colors but they sure are mine! And I find I tend to work with colors that coordinate with the current season so they would definitely be my pick.

It will be fun to see what they turn into.

Geaux Tigers! I am actually wearing my BCS T-shirt from the January 2008 game today! I can understand making it in purple and gold.

If you need a home for the second set of colors I would be glad to take the quilt off your hands. I love them!

The second choice would make a nice christmas quilt, too.

I am just catching up on your blog after being away from a computer for a few days. I love the first set of colors, however I ail form Vikin gcountry and my high school colors were purple and Gold!! Also just what is the big fabric shop in a ski shop. If those dimples are as awesome as my daughters :) then I surely need some.
