Quilt for Fort Hood
November 13th, 2009
Last week on the Heartstrings list, I read a message about quilts being collected to send to Fort Hood. We were directed to Cherri House’s blog where I read more about it. Several quilts are in my “to be finished” stack that were destined to be sent to Alycia for QOV quilts so I brought one of those along with me, finished the binding by hand and sent it off to Fort Hood.
I was so glad this quilt was almost ready and I was able to send it along for this project and I’m hoping it brings comfort to one of the injured or to a family member who lost a loved one.

A beautiful quilt from a beautiful lady. I am sure the recepient will be thrilled. As usual, Judy, you have amazed me with your kindness and generosity.
Thank you Judy for doing that. I am sure the quilt will bring tears and gratitude for your generousity. I am from another military community not too far away from FT. Hood. Many of our Army men/women and Marines here served at FT. Hood or know men and wormen from there. . . BLess you.
Are you a professional journalist? You write very well.

Wonderful. The quilt will bring hugs and warmth. A quilt is a true gift from the heart.
Bless you.
I, too, sent off a quilt …. I hope it will bring comfort and they know how much they’re loved.
You rock!
That quilt will surely be a big comfort to someone….you are very generous to send it to them.
Great quilt, I am sure it will bring comfort to whomever receives it.
You are a peach Judy.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words. My real calling is making quilts to donate and while I’m surely not happy of the circumstances that created the opportunity to donate quilts to Fort Hood, I’m happy that I had a quilt that was ready to send.
It’s beautiful!
I have a couple for Fort Hood all ready to ship that will go out on Monday.
What a pretty quilt-and how nice you are to donate it : )
