Quilt Has a New Home

December 16, 2009

This is one of my favorite quilts.  I love yellow!

A larger version of this quilt, with a pieced border will be in Weekend Quilts.  The lady who answers the phone at Vince’s work is always so nice!  Most of the time I don’t talk to her but punch in Vince’s extension and go straight to his office.  When I do need to talk to Mary are times like . . when I had a wreck and Vince wasn’t in his office or when Chad’s arrow went through his arm and Vince wasn’t in his office . . those kinds of occasions!  I do see her on the few occasions I go to the office too.  She’s always so nice and helpful and I figured a little quilt would be nice for her.  It was a huge surprise and unexpected gift for her and I think she loved it.

That quilt is a very nice thing you did for Mary.
I’m sure she really loved it.
I know I would.

It’s lovely, Judy! Okay, maybe I do have to buy your new book after all. :)

Question: Did you ever name The Quilt that Vince Spurned? I missed the announcement if so. I have another suggestion: Woman Scorned.

I love that quilt too.

It was the Quilt for an Hour one that you did a year and a half ago. I was all set to do it. I had the fabric. Bought the Tri recs rulers had the fabric cut and was waiting for Hour 1. The day before Hour 1 was posted, my dad took a turn for the worst and I went to be with him in his final days.

When I saw the quilt in this blogpost, it reminded me that I have a “kit” all ready to be sewn up. Maybe after the new year, I’ll dig out my “Kit” and make it.

Love the looks of the new book. I’ll order it in February when we do our snowbird thing and go to SC. I can’t wait to see the other quilts in it.

Judy,
Mary is a fortunate person to receive the quilt. I too love yellow and have used it often in quilts. Unfortunately the one with a yellow background, a lone star, is a UFO. It still needs to be quilted.

That is a very nice pattern with lots of movement.

My Liam would absolutely love that quilt. Yellow is his favorite color, I always think that is because he is red green color blind, but I really don’t know. It’s gorgeous Judy.
