Actually there are 10 bridges here in Portland if you count the St. Johns, the Sellwood and the Ross Island bridges. Luckily we DO NOT have tolls like they had in NY/NJ where I grew up.

I've driven across those bridges and even though I am not afraid of bridges, they looked daunting. But the drive over them was easy peasy.

Judy, when there was one bridge (on right) it was 2 way traffic with a narrow "sidewalk" on each side!!! Now, that was scary!!! They have since taken the "sidewalks" off and made it one way and built the bridge to the left.
And Lori, Bridge City doesn't even come close to all the bridges in Portland.
BTW, I lived in Pt Neches (right across the bridges shown) and my daughter lives in Portland!!

I wonder how many other bridges are there. The city is called Bridge City. We have, I think 7 bridges in Portland, OR, which I remember moving here thinking wow concrete city and bridges.
