Update on Cheesemaking Supplies

February 3, 2010

Remember I complained about the shipping costs from the cheesemaking supplies?  They sent me a check to refund the shipping that I paid over and above the actual shipping costs.   While I’m still not pleased that the person I talked to on the phone basically said . . too bad . . that’s what happens when you order over the internet . . I just wanted to let you all know that they had made things right after I emailed the owner.

And, on their website is the recipe/method with pictures for the recipe they provided and I used for making mozzarella.

Thank you for sharing that . . . I was really disappointed to hear about your initial experience. Let there be cheese! :)

it does seem curious that they would not know/be able to figure out the weight of everything they sell on the site and just program that into the computer. i have fabric companies i order from that do it both ways; either a pre-set price that goes by the weight of the fabric or else a pre-set that is adjusted before shipping.

I’m glad your problem was resolved. It goes to show that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you holler loud enough, someone will hear and make things right.

I’m glad to hear you got some resolution. My husband very sweetly ordered me a Precious Moments figure this year for Christmas. Two months later he is still fighting with them for charging $15 to mail something that weighed less than a pound, taking 2 weeks to put it in the mail and then another 2 weeks for it to finally get here! And this was a replacement for the first one that arrived broken which they took 2 months to credit us for- and then credited a card that we have not used for 2 years! Unbelievable. And I bet they can’t figure out why they are losing customers…

I’m very pleased to learn that they made the shipping right with you. Too many internet places “rip” customers on shipping. I just ordered one skein of sock yarn — and the shipping was $4.95. That was Monday, and obviously they didn’t ship it priority mail. Hmmm… never again??? Probably from that company.
