Bright, Happy Packages

February 6, 2010

If you ordered Weekend Quilts, be watching your mail box.  Most of them are coming in rather bright envelopes.  A few are in manila colored envelopes because I ran out of bright ones.  Hot pink, bright turquoise and of course, lime green!

Two trips to the post office Friday, hopefully one trip this morning and I haven’t made much of a dent in the list.  By the end of the weekend, the books will all be signed and in envelopes but I’m taking them to the post office in batches of 20.  We usually have just one person working at the window and I don’t want to create problems.  If I make a couple of trips each day, I’m hoping to have the books all by next weekend.

The next time you are at the Post Office – can’t they sell you the stamps for all of the packages? They might be willing to come by and pick up the whole lot of the packages. After all, they do advertise that they will pick it up.

Such ‘happy’ work! Just got mine ordered so now you have more work. The post office should be happy they have work, too; but I live in a small town and understand. Just put me in the last group of 20!

oh what fun! I’d check into the pick-up, too! save you the gas, etc and since they are all the same, you can answer the question of whether there is anything liquid, fragile or hazardous only once :)
Looking forward to getting my book!

Looking forward to getting my book–like Mary, I’m sending my check out today.

The packages don’t all weigh the same. Some have 2 or 3 books, some have 1, 2 or 3 patterns included. Even one envelope won’t fit in my mail box and I don’t want to leave them on the porch. I live about 1/2 a mile from the post office so I don’t mind taking them down there. It’s easier if I get them there early instead of having the mail man pick them up and bring in tons of the all at once for the post office people to have to deal with, along with all the other mail coming in from the carrier.

I don’t mind accommodating them a bit.

Don’t rush on my account. I doubt I’ll be seeing mail for a few days at least. We are up to about 18 inches, though my hubby didn’t have too much trouble digging out the driveway and vehicles.

Like everyone else, I’m excited to get the book. Love the envelopes.

From the picture, it looks like Speck has been helping.

I’ll look forward to mine, too. Not sure when we’ll get mail again…..as we had a LOT of snow…..a massive power outage that left us “in the cold” from 4 a.m. today until 10 tonight…UGH. (Thank goodness we have a gas fireplace in the family room….but the bathroom was HIDEOUSLY cold, I want you to know!!! LOL)

I know I ordered late, so mine probably wasn’t in the initial push to get the books out. It would also probably be safe to assume I’m not getting a pretty bright colored envelope. I will survive :D

At this point, I just want my book. Working on my master’s degree doesn’t offer a lot of time to actually quilt, so I rely on books, blogs, and magazines to get any quilty fix I can!

Congrats!

I ordered mine from AQS, since I was already ordering something else, and it came last FRIDAY!! It is AWESOME, as I KNEW it would be!! I am having a hard time picking my favorite, and I am going to have a hard time not STARTING one (or 2) in the next couple of weeks! I have the pieces cut for Morning Splash that I have to do first, (not to mention the other UFO’s) and I CANT WAIT to do them ALL!! Nice Job Judy!! Hope it does well, I know I LOVE mine!

My bright package arrived today! I love it! I can’t wait to start on one, but I have to get Morning Splash into a top first. I’m thinking of doing Winter Break first, or maybe Lucy Lou. Thank you!
