There’s truly no place like home. Not sure why but this trip was exhausting! Got up early Monday morning and was on the road by 7 a.m. We got to Paducah around 4 p.m. and met Becky at Hancock’s. I bought nothing there. I was doing so good! Nothing really tempted me. I’m a stashbuster, you know? From there we went to Eleanor Burns’ tent and I suddenly was no longer a stashbuster. Everything went down hill from there. Tuesday afternoon I signed books at The Village Mercantile booth.
These are my friends. Kneeling in front of the table is Betty, owner of The Village Mercantile. Leaning by me is my friend, Becky from Kentucky. Directly behind me is Kim, next to her is Elaine and next to Elaine in the dark blue is Sue.
That evening I signed books at the AQS Book Fair.
Elaine, Kim, Sue, Becky and I stayed in a cabin at the state park and we had so much fun! We laughed til we cried every night, stayed up way too late, slept late enough that we missed getting clean towels several mornings but that’s a whole story in itself!
My friends made me swear to “What happens in Paducah stays in Paducah!” Otherwise, I could tell you some stories that would have you all wanting to stay with these girls. They were so funny.
There will be a couple more Paducah posts coming . . things I bought, things I saw (not things I saw in my own cabin .. I promised not to tell!).
The stash report is going to be painful . . real painful. But, I’m going to increase the effort and still hope to reach my goal.
But, for tonight . . I’m going to sleep in my own bed and sleep real good!
