Taking the Weekend Off

There are so many things that need to be done but I have not even been downstairs to my sewing room once this week, and maybe not even last week either.  I fixed breakfast this morning and told Vince and Chad . . that’s it!  No more cooking the rest of the weekend.  There are lots of leftovers in the fridge — chicken marsala, veal piccata, steak with PW’s blue cheese cream sauce, smoked brisket — plenty of stuff in the fridge and if that’s not enough, there’s deli meat and a package of brats in there.

Meatballs for tomorrow have been taken out of the freezer. Spaghetti sauce is canned and just needs to be heated up.  A hunk of dough from the 5 Minutes a Day bucket will be pulled off in the morning.  Mozzarella, basil and tomato salad will take 5 minutes to prepare.

No kitchen duty the rest of the weekend for me!

The peaches can wait.  There were three cases.  I gave one case away and made more chutney yesterday with half of the top case.  Before going to bed tonight, I’ll probably slice up the rest of the top case and put them in the dehydrator.

There are more cucumbers to pick and pickles to make.  That can wait!

There are tomatoes to pick and can.  There’s basil to cut and pesto to make.  But all that can wait.  I’m going to spend the rest of the day with this very dependable friend!

Yep, this is all I plan to do for the next day and a half!  Sew, sew sew!
