Tonight while reading blogs, and going from one to another, I found the Patchwork Times button on the Timber Hill Threads blog. Thanks Angie! You will be receiving a little Mighty Bright light. I love mine and hope you love yours too. I’ll keep watching for those buttons and in a week or so, there will be another little prize. Thanks everyone for having the button on your blog!
Last summer Chad built a boat. He had no plans . . he just started building and it ended up weighing a ton. They put it in someone’s pool for a few days but it eventually ended up being dismantled.
This summer he’s building another boat and he ordered a set of plans. This boat will be for duck hunting and will be rigged up with some kind of camo covering. Today, even though it’s hotter than heck, he’s out fiberglassing the boat.
Maybe I’m just old and having too many power surges but it is so hot this year. Having lived most of my life in southwest Louisiana, where it never got very cold, it’s hard for me to believe we get this in the winter:

Or the frozen fog:
Or Chad’s ice sculpture that made the newspaper . .
The 100° outside temp was the temp . . not the heat index. Remind me to never complain about winter again!

I do sew the folded binding on to the front of the quilt first, then flip it over, pin very closely and stitch right in the ditch from the front side. There are many ways to finish binding by machine – with a decorative stitch from the front or back, with a straight stitch from the back but I prefer the method I use because unless someone looks
In this post I wrote about how I finish the binding and include a video. For those times when you need to review that post and can’t find it, you can either go to the search option on the sidebar and type in binding video or you can go up to the Tutorials tab above and scroll through them all til you come to that post.
