Last time we drove up to the Amish fruit market, the first thing we both said was “That’s BIG!”

The watermelon was 137 pounds.
The pumpkin was120 pounds! That would make a lot of pies or one huge jack-o-lantern!

Where’s the green shirt? Where’s the purple crocks? Guess Vince is all dressed up to go shopping, huh?
DH grew a couple of those huge pumpkins one year. Our son even got his picture in the local paper with them…..they were bigger than him. I don’t see myself paying $45 for a watermelon.
….or a whole lot of watermellon rind pickles! Mmmmm, they’re good!
My general rule of thumb is….I don’t eat anything I can’t pick up myself….
And it was wonderful seeing Vince in something other than green.
Watermelon rind preserves- enough for a year or two!
YIKES…..you’d need help getting something like that into the car and then into the house…that’s for sure!
OMG, I didn’t recognize Vince without his green teeshirt!
Wow – that’s a LOT of pumpkin and watermelon!!!!
Darling apple pies – BTW.
Judy, did you throw away all of Vince’s green T shirts????? Do you feel bad?
awwwwwwwwwwwww, Vince wore BLUE! kewl
Our county fair is next week. There is always a prize for the largest/heaviest pumpkin. Usually there is one closer to 300 pounds. Whatever the weight, it is noce to see vegetables weighing more than most people!
