Design Wall Monday

September 6, 2010

There’s nothing on my design wall but I can show six of the pillowcases I made last week.

There’s nothing on my design wall because I finished the gift quilt and have spent the weekend quilting and binding.  Just so much a girl can do, you know?  :)

Please share what’s on your design wall.

Good morning Judy – great to know I’m not the only one up this early. I’m off to clean the BBQ grill. Have a great Labor Day, but don’t work too hard as I know you have a few chores, starting with the chickens.

Nice pillow cases :) Finishing up quilts is such a behind the scenes thing, it’s it?

You did what I should be doing, only I can’t seem to get into the mood. This weather makes me want to abandon the house and head for the farm!

Pretty pillowcases, Judy. I need to make some more, too! They’re great stashbusters, aren’t they?

My wall is very empty—so much to do so little time. I need some Judy energy.

Great pillowcases! I did get a bit of quilting done yesterday, after baking Chelsea buns (2 pans), oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and some big ginger cookies for DH. Saturday was a bread day – 4 loaves of white and one pumpernickle, then dough for pizza for dinner. Today I plan to quilt – we’ll see how that goes…..

I like the pilowcases too. They would make quick gifts for the grandkids this year.
Since I’ve been so busy making other quilts and not gotten any Christmas Sewing started… Today’s wall is my Round Robin that I am working on. I am still looking for the right Blues and Green to add to the pinks so far. Have a Great Labor Day. I’m going back to the Fair to help take down the Quilting Area I’ll be in charge of next year.

Judy-Your pillow cases are very cute! You have been so busy canning, I imagine it is hard to find time to sew! I have to sew a liitle here and there during my workweek. I’m glad we can find the time!

Judy, Very pretty pillowcases. Are these for charity or for you? You’ve probably posted that somewhere, but I don’t remember where. I did finally get some sewing done last night. I was in a slump last weekend and most of this week. Hopefully I’m past that and can get to the other stuff on my list. Hope your Labor Day is restful and full of sewing.

29 is the lowest number I’ve had! Even if I stay up until midnight on the west coast I can’t get my link up any earlier. Anyway, doesn’t matter. I’m happy to have found this site and love seeing what everyone’s working on. I’m leaving on vacation in a few days and will be in MA, ME and NH hitting all the quilt shops! Any suggestions on good ones?

The pillow cases are great. Lately I’ve been into making pillowcases to match quilts I’m making, so I try to remember at the beginning to buy a little extra fabric. I also found a neat pattern for fabric boxes and want to also make those to match the quilts …

Great pillowcases. One Christmas I made them for everyone. This year I haven’t quite figured out what the gift will be.

Love the pillowcases. The one with the hearts, tan trim, and purple cuff… is the purple Timeless Treasures Fabric Inc. Pattern # KM-C9663 by any chance? If so could you please contact me privately… I am desperately trying to find 1 yard of said fabric.

Wonderful work, everyone. I’m attempting closure on yet another UFO: my version of the Storm at Sea pattern, called “Morning After the Storm.”
Hugs,
