Design Wall Monday – September 13, 2010
These half square triangles are not on my design wall but are on my ugly, stained, scorched ironing board cover. It’s a whole bunch of half square triangles and all the fabric for this entire quilt top will be Dimples fabric by Andover! I still think that could be the only fabric I ever need or . . maybe that along with Michael Miller’s Kristal line.
What’s on your design wall?

Did you cut those with your GO cutter Judy? I used to hate making half square triangle and flying geese units, but not anymore!
I like those colors, Judy.
I like the jewel tones you are using. The Andover Dimples line is great. I’ve used it once in a quilt and it really adds a richness to the project, I guess it’s the apparent texture of the fabric that creates that effect.
Every time I see you using Dimples, I make a note to get some as well. But it hasn’t happened yet. Love the rich colors! Thanks for hosting DWM!
I think it was Alex Anderson who turned me on to covering my ironing board with pieces of freezer paper…love it…I can even draw lines on it if I want to, which I seldom do…anyway you can cover the entire board or just icky areas
I can’t wait to see how you use your half square triangles. Jewel tones are my favorite.
I’m showing some progress. Thanks Judy!
I agree about “Dimples” fabric. SO many colors, SO perfect for really any project. As for a scorched ironing board cover, that means it’s used well and THAT means many quilts, pillowcases and all sorts of other items you’ll make people happy with!
Thanks for your blog, Judy! I makes me happy EVRY day!
I love the dimples too…should have bought more when I had the chance
I saw the dimples fabric for the first time this past summer.. those are very nice 1/2 square triangles…
I hope you’ve stocked up on Dimples. I was partial to Moda Marbles for the longest time: marbles, dots, swirls…. I know have some in my stash.
Have a great week Judy.
Rich colors. Thanks for sharing. It will be a busy week this week as our local chapter of Binky Patrol will be providing blankets/quilts to the survivors of the San Bruno gas explosion fire. Check out my blog if you would like to help out.
Love the colours!
Not much quilting is going on here…mostly canning and sorting the end to both should be coming soon!(I wish)
Love your colors Judy
Oops – linked to last week’s post. I really did post a new “design wall Monday” post today…..
thanks for giving us the opportunity to share our work
[...] A while back I thought I was going to be able to participate in “Design Wall Monday” on Judy L’s blog; and then life threw some unexpected curveballs and I didn’t have anything to show on [...]
I really like the Dimples fabric. I always look for it in my quilt store.

I love the rich colors in that Dimples fabric!
I left a comment earlier but now I don’t see it … oh well, I can’t wait to see what these half-square triangles become. The colors are lovely.
Half square triangles can sure turn into a lot of different blocks==will look forward to where yours end up!
I seem to be later and later to this party–but my link is up
A little late, but at least it’s still Monday for 7 more minutes! lol. Those HSTs look interesting, hmmm…..I do like the colors.
