Finished Another Pair of Socks

October 20, 2010

Still haven’t finished the ones on two circulars but did finish a pair that had been started quite a while ago.

They’re not really as light as they look on this white carpet.  This white carpet that I struggle to keep clean!  Not sure what this yarn is but I loved knitting with it.

The fact that you have a completed pair is the most important thing. KNIT ON!!!

Very pretty. I wish I could get into knitting socks. I made 3 or 4 pair last year and was so gung ho, then when the reality of hand washing them set in, I lost interest. I do have a HUGE stash of sock yarn I bought online. I bought large containers and put all my yarn in them. Maybe when I retire, I’ll get inspired. I guess I could make a sampler out of the various yarns. I keep hoping I’ll get my mojo back.

I wash all of my socks with my regular clothes in the washing machine. I just lay them flat to dry!

Most sock yarn is machine washable, so I just dump mine into the wash, but I do dry them flat.

If you have a brand new pair of socks, I’d hand wash the first time, just to make sure that there is no excess dye.

Great socks! Is there a way to search your blog for all sock posts? You do not have a search bar at the top of your blog, and you do not have a way to search by tags, either. It would be GREAT to see your present and past sock projects!

There is a search box at the bottom of the page.

I love your knitted socks and seeing your sock drawer inspired me. I received the Classic Socks for the Family pattern that I ordered and my yarn from Loopy Ewe. (Judy, you are so right how good their customer service is. I even received a handwritten note welcoming me and thanking me for choosing them.) I have been practicing (and cussing) and FINALLY got the hang of knitting with those 4 needles. I can’t wait for school to begin!

I love your pink/purple and green socks. You know purple is my favorite color, right? I know you are having a blast at the retreat so I expect to see lots of great projects when you return. I’ve got my sock yarn and am ready to give it another try too. Don’t know if I should stick to the 4 dpns for my first ones or buy 2 circular needles. I want the easiest, least confusing way to do it. I’m knitting illiterate. Dar

Those are really cute. I’ve got my stuff – needles, book, yarn – and I’m ready to start the basic sock two at a time on the 1st.

I made progress on my socks but still have a couple inches to go before getting to the toe decreases. I plan on being ready to start a new pair in Nov for your sock knit-a-long.
