Monochromatic Challenge

April 30, 2011

The color for May is RED.  There’s probably less red in my stash than anything else but I’m so looking forward to this color.  Maybe it’s all the talk about the red and white exhibit that’s been going on.  I think I’ll work real hard on getting something really pretty designed for red . . maybe red and white or red and ecru.

If you worked on an orange project for April’s challenge, please share it here.

Love it! I had very little red but have been collecting for a quilt for my daughter. The funniest part? I just finished cutting for her quilt, so I can use any of those pieces!

Red is a great choice, can’t wait to see what you make!

I am going to make a red and white basket quilt.

I will take a picture of my orange and white quilt sometime this weekend and share it!

I had great plans for working on an orange quilt, but then life intervened — OK it was quilting life. I’ve got a stack of quilts which need to be completed before we go on vacation at the end of June. On the other hand, the Red challenge might actually happen. I’m making a quilt for my sister’s wedding and it’s going to be red. It might not get quilted by the end of the month, but I really need to the top done. Ok — got to stop surfing, I’ve got quilts to quilt!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. I haven’t gotten started yet but have made a couple of scribbles to consider. cw

Orange was easy, red I’m not so sure. I’m really enjoying making these blocks each month.

I didn’t have a bunch of yellow or orange but ended up ordering some fun fabrics in those colors. So, I guess I have gone outside my normal color range in getting those fabrics. Now, just have to finish the wallhanging!

I have a red and white top done, now to make the back, and get it quilted!!! I actually made this top in March, didn’t have any browns or oranges for the following month, so I did red instead. Will post a pic at the end of the month, I hope I have it quilted by then.
