I have gone through my list of UFOs and I only have five. I suppose I could assign more than one number to them.

Quick, Nancy! Start some projects before the end of this year! LOL!

Not sure that is the most productive idea ever. However, I was going to start one today. Then I would be at 6. :)

Nancy, I didn’t have 12 either but I have several that I have pattern and fabric for that have been sitting waiting for me to start. I included those in my 12. Also, doesn’t have to be a quilt, could be any project you’re working on. Another thing I did was break up one project into 4 chunks because it’s too big for one month. If you want to join us, do so, even if you only have a few. It’s all about keeping us focused on completing and lowering how many are sitting out there unfinished.

I keep my list of “Works in Progress” under 100 at all times. If it threatens to go over that I just move some to the “Rework or Abandon List”.
I have NO UFO’s – they are all works in progress!
I do prioritize them!

Haha, Karen – just had to laugh at your “under 100″ comment. I can so relate! I’m down to about 85, but I stopped counting a couple of months ago. And what a great idea to call them Works in Progress… sounds so much less intimidating! Thanks!

Love your idea of keeping it below 100! LOL……

Still working on #12, it will be done. Good luck on yours. Will there be a logo for 2012?

Thanks for getting this going again, Judy! It really helped me focus last year, and again this year. I’ve gone through my stuff and re-stashed some, finished some, put them into different categories (like “to be quilted”), and that got me down to a dozen. I feel more organized, and not quite so overwhelmed! Now, I’m going to need the cheerleading that goes on here.

I’m so excited for another year of project finishing. At least I hope I’ll finish some…my goals this year are a lot bigger than last year, but I CAN do this! Thank you so much for the motiation again this year. If I finish all the projects on my list this year, I’ll have NO UFOs for 2013 – how’s that for extra motivation?!

Thanks for hosting again this year Judy. I finished a record number of UFOs last year, at least for me!

Is there a way to link up and play along if I don’t have a blog?

Reply

13 @pril January 2, 2012 at 5:56 am

Hey Sandy, if you don’t have a blog, you should be able to pink up via Flickr or another picture hosting site. Just create a mosaic of your 12 to your picture account and link up to that. Let me know if you need help.

When are the lists “due?” I’d love to do this, but I need to figure out my list… :)

Reply

15 Missy December 21, 2011 at 11:07 am

Does it have to be only quilts? I have a lot of sewing to do. :)

Reply

16 Liz December 21, 2011 at 7:22 pm

OK – I’ve looked at 50 entries so far.. wonderful..I’m so glad there are others out there with so many projects to be done. I know that Judy is busy with visitors, so I’ll tell everyone who is worrying about this challenge – there are no “quilt police” around here.

If we get all of our lists done – GREAT! If not, well, I probably did better than having no inspiration. Judy is giving us all some inspiration to get off our behinds and get some stuff finished.

YEA and thanks to Judy…..

Just wanted to let you know I hooked up my blog post of UFO’s for the year. Many thanks for hosting!! Heres to finished projects !! Hugs

So technically I have more UFOs this year (54 vs 51) but I finished more projects than the last two years put together (20 vs 11 and 8). Thanks for hosting this! I find a little accountability really helps keep me motivated.

P.S. you people with less than 12 make me laugh!

Hey, so far, from what I can tell, there is not a “grabable” button like what we would normally put on our sidebar. You can always add a picture widget to your sidebar, then attach the picture and enter in the appropriate link for the main page to the challenge. Let me know if you need help.

I am #64! I have a little red x after my name, which gives me the impression that I may be deleted from your UFO list. My link does not have “www. after the http://
Do I need the http://www.? First time to set up a Blog.

24 Miss Jamee December 25, 2011 at 1:13 pm

Nancie, no little red x on my list, but mine does…is it okay on your end?

Reply

25 @pril January 2, 2012 at 5:52 am

Hey Nancie, the red x is only on your page. It’s for just in case YOU want to delete yourself from the list. Noone else sees an X next to anyone else’s name, just their own. Make sense?

Not quite sure how all this works. I have a blog ????sort of. On wordpress.com it is Vickievanphd’s blog (That is Projects Half Done, LOL) I put a list of UFO’s on there….So well maybe I can find them again. I am on ollllld woman hahahaha hope I catch on to this!!!

28 Sue Bone December 28, 2011 at 9:33 am

I have a whole lot more UFOs than I realised and I keep finding more. I ended the year with twice as many as I started and I bought a long arm. Sigh, if I can get 12 finished in 2012 that would definitely help.

Okay, I’ve made a list, started a blog, added a linky – I just feel so productive right now. I hope this can carry forward and actually get some of those quilts out of the closet and ready to be used. Let me know if something is not right with my link #100.
Thanks

Love this challenge, thanks for doing it, Judy!!

Hey Ginger, as long as you see the little red X next to the bad link, you should be able to delete it. SewKoolBeenz@gmail.com

I was looking at the list of participants and found that I joined twice. Maybe I need to make second list of twelve, I’m sure that I could come up with twelve more UFOs. What should I do?

Hi Judy,
Thank you for hosting the 2012 UFO Challenge and for opening the sign ups again, that’s the nudge I needed to make up my mind about continuining with the challenge.

42 Sharon January 2, 2012 at 11:24 am

LOL – I thought it would take a few days to come up with a list. But once I got digging around in the sewing room – I found more UFOs than I’d like to admit! And in just a few minutes! So excited about all my challenges this year! Thank you Judy for offering this UFO challenge and the color palette challenge.

I thought I had come and shared the link to my list but I guess not.

I’m curious – do you know how many people completed their list in 2011? I completed all 12 plus 1

44 Sara in GR, MI January 2, 2012 at 10:06 pm

Since I have 24 UFOs listed on my sidebar, my plan is to finish ONE each month, and then use the rest of the month to work on the SECOND one with the same number. I really need this as I finished hardly any OLD projects last year.

45 Carol January 2, 2012 at 10:40 pm

Here is my list – I have included a lot of small projects as they often get put aside while working on the bigger ones. I hope that I can squeeze them in with others. I did fairly well last year as I did complete 9 of 13 UFOs.

Thanks.

Carol, first create your blog post about your UFOs. Then right click on the title/subject line of the post you wrote and choose “copy link address” or “copy shortcut” (or something similar). Then when you go to Judy’s UFO page at the very bottom, you can click on “Add a link” and fill in the form accordingly. The link you copied would be the address you can paste into the URL blank in the form. Hope this helps.

How come my name has a red x beside it?

Reply

49 Joni in La. January 3, 2012 at 1:50 pm

That’s so you can delete it if you made a mistake or just want it to go away. You will only ever see an “x” by your link.

I stumbled on to someone blog with a link and decided it was time. New machine bought last month , sewing room cleaned, no classes this semester, and a desire not to have hoarders come clean out my house. Some of the projects are big some are smaller and some I have already been peicing away at. I just home to complete 8 of them.
thanks again

Judy, I seem to have been erased from the list. I joined December 23 and was about Number 68 or so, but my listing has disappeared. I’m not sure how to proceed.

However, I cannot figure out how to go any farther. How do I know which project I am supposed to work on in which month?
Please help me!
