To my blog readers who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! May your day be filled with love, peace and joy. May we never forget the reason we celebrate Christmas — the birth of Christ!
To my blog readers who do not celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a good day and I hope you cooked because I’m betting there are few restaurants open in the U. S. today.
Our day will be quiet. No family. No tree. No presents. Chad is still working part-time at Wal-Mart in Sporting Goods and getting off around the holidays is next to impossible and even harder in Sporting Goods with all the hunting going on. He used all his accumulated vacation time so he could get paid when he had his tonsils out. He and Nicole will hopefully get a few days off and come here in January. Our tree is in storage, along with all our decorations. No presents because . . well . . the simple truth is . . we’ve just spent a heck of a lot on the sewing room, tractor and other things for the house, so for us, we’ve received lots of presents through the past couple of months. Christmas is really about what’s in your heart . . at least for the adults.
We will have food! I can justify buying a standing rib roast on Christmas. I will make a salad and baked potatoes and roast the meat and bake some rolls. Simple and easy with hardly any mess to clean up. This will be a good Christmas for us.
Merry Christmas! May your day be merry and bright!
