2012 UFO Challenge

December 23, 2011

Welcome to the 2012 UFO Challenge hosted by Patchwork Times.  The purpose of this challenge is to end 2012 with 12 fewer UFOs than we have at the beginning of the year.  To participate, all you have to do is make a list of 12 UFOs you’d like to finish in 2012.  The project is explained more fully in the Info Post linked below.

Once your list is made and posted on your blog, go to this post and add your link.  Monthly drawings will be posted — each month a number will be drawn and that is the UFO we should work on and finish that month.  When the next month’s UFO is drawn, there will be a link box where you can add a link to your previous month’s completed project.  If it doesn’t make sense now, it will once we get going.

Me again – I think perhaps I just found the answer to my question – I should have read more of the details. Thanks Judy L from Judy C

Not a problem. I went back to check. Sometimes what I’m thinking isn’t what I write so questions are good!

Judy, I am not able to find where to add my link to participate in the UFO challenge. I have my list and I am ready to go. Happy new year.

Reading over the websites of some of the 128 participants, (1536 projects listed) the thought occurred to me that someone should start a business and call it UFOFFU.
It would stand for UNFINISHED OBJECTS FINISHED FOR YOU!

Question – When is the deadline to join? I want to join, but I don’t have a list yet. This week I’m organizing my sewing room and finding all those UFOs and WIP. Would Friday the 6th be too late to join?

I don’t remember is you gave us the UFO Challenge button to add to our blogs but I would like to put it on my blog if possible.

I really would like to join! I will prepare my list and grab the button as soon as I figured all the UFO and WiP and “Desiderata” in my sewing room!

Judy – is it still too late to join? I had my list already – but had problems with my computer and only yesterday could figure out how to edit my blog (NEW design – old one wasn’t broken yet – grrrrr!!!!!) – was unaware that the deadline passed until I went to your site. I really would like to join – have 12 – with some of them repeats from last year. And this year I hope to not only get farther along on each (including finishing some) but even have pix of them – once I figure out how to upload pictures onto my blog! (I know – not rocket science – but I keep deleting what I upload!)

Judy, I’ve done something wrong, but I’m not sure what. I signed up for 2012 Challenge on December 23 and my name appeared under “Happy Quilter”–about 68 or so. It seems to have disappeared. I did send in my list and I did see it printed. Am I doing something wrong? I even wrote that I was thrilled that you chose #5 for the first quilt (that is my easiest to finished!)

I’ve had a successful February and have completed several of my twelve projects for 2012 so I have substituted the ones I’ve finished with ones I still need to finish. I hope that’s okay.

Judy, thank you so much for sponsoring the 2012 UFO Challenge. I just finished my 30 year old UFO. I could not have done it without your encouragement.
