Design Wall Monday – January 2, 2011

Nothing like starting the year off with a pathetic design wall and honestly, I thought about cleaning it up and making it look like I’ve been productive but the sad truth is . . I’ve been sick for seven days!  I came down with a sore throat and fever on Christmas night and haven’t felt like doing much all week.  Apparently half of Brown County was sick too because twice I went to the “doc in the box” and the wait was over an hour and I guess I wasn’t sick enough to wait.  I have an appointment to see a doctor today!  My self diagnosis (probably wrong) is that I have a sinus infection and sitting with my head down and the sewing machine running wouldn’t be fun.  Sitting in the recliner with Speck on my lap and knitting felt a whole lot better.  Vince has been on vacation almost the entire week . . that could account for my lack of sewing (notice I did NOT say he was making me sick!)  :)

Anyway . . my design table is covered in sock yarn and no telling what else is in this picture.  I did get a few flying geese trimmed but never turned my sewing machine on this week.  I’d say that’s proof that I felt pretty darned bad!

Vince goes back to work tomorrow, whatever the doctor gives me today will surely have me feeling better by tomorrow so hopefully this week I’ll get a lot more sewing done!

Yes, chicken soup. I bet your’s is really good too! I see some of your rulers on your table. I have started to put a few things away in my quilt room and was wondering how to store my rulers. I have them hanging on nails now but I would like them all in the same place and organized. How do you store your rulers? I know your quilt room isn’t done yet (I love seeing pics!) but you must have a clever idea! I hope you feel better very soon Judy!

Judy, feel better soon. Besides the chicken soup, try some hot tea with honey & lemon – soothes the throat. Take care…

I thought you sounded a bit grouchy in yesterday’s post! It’s hard to pack and do other chores when you don’t feel well. Take time off for yourself and get better soon!

Feel Better Soon. I have my UFO #5 picture on my Design Wall. I’ll have to see if I can get it to the “flimsy” this month. Also shown is the Quilting I did on New Year’s Eve. I’m only Half done on my Mariner’s Compass Round Robin Quilt. It will be my first finish of the New Year.

So sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. There’s just so much crap going around that it’s hard not to catch something. The doc will no doubt give you a shot in the butt and some good drugs and you’ll be feeling better in no time. I’m sure Speck has enjoyed the extra lap time.

Chicken soup, a soft pillow and alone time is always healing. Take care.

    Hi Judy,
Sorry to hear that you have been ill. Chicken soup , a nice warm bath and rest is always good for a cold.
I noticed a purple coloured yarn on your design wall ( in the right lower corner). Could you please tell me the name of it and where I can purchase it. I have just started knitting socks on 2 circular needles ( I have finished one pair and would like to start another pair. I think this could become addictive.)
    Hope you feel better soon.

Hope you feel better real soon. We have had the “Christmas Crud Bug” here in northern Michigan too. I broke down last week and went to the Doc and got some heavy duty meds and feel a lot better.

Lots of rest, liquids and warm socks will make you feel better. Tomorrow is going to be a better day.

I hope you feel better. As a person with bad sinuses, I find Sudafed, expectorant cough syrup, saline nasal spray, a heating pad applied to the painful part of the face, and staying proped up in bed to be what gets me through until I get antibiotics from a doctor. Good luck, take care, and I really enjoy your Design Wall Monday.

I’m sure Speck liked it better as well. Get well soon.
