We were out roasting marshmallows over the leftover coals and Vince said “This is what old folks do in Texas on a Friday night!”
I’ve been taking food out of the freezer for dinner and trying not to make too big of a mess in the kitchen. You’re lucky I exercised what little judgment I have and didn’t post a picture of my finger here! I sent a picture of it to my dad and my friend, Sarah . . just so they’d both feel sorry for me and neither of them did!
Vince brought home some steaks on Wednesday night and I said “Do you want to cook those tomorrow night?” He said “No, let’s do them Friday night since it’s Valentine’s Day!” Huh? Friday night isn’t Valentine’s Day! But we had steaks anyway and then Vince said “Since it’s Valentine’s Day, let’s roast some marshmallows!” OK . . but it still isn’t Valentine’s Day. Then I said “Vince, do you know what date Valentine’s Day is?” and, of course, he did not. I should be happy that he got the month right!
So, it’s Friday night at the Yellow Jacket Ranch. I never got my nap today that I wanted so badly. I think I’ll load a quilt for tomorrow . . maybe the Halloween quilt or maybe Blueberry Hill . . and then when I wake up, I’ll be really excited because I can quilt without having to load the quilt on the machine. I’m so nice to myself sometimes!
