Retreat Accomplishments Part 1

Here’s part 1 of a 2 part show of accomplishments.  There were more finishes and near finishes than I’ve ever seen at a retreat.  These ladies sewed non-stop . . day and night!

I didn’t take notes so I hope I have the correct names with all these quilts.  If not, please correct me.  The photos are listed in the order in which I took them and no doubt I missed some of them and if I did, that was purely accidental.

This is a terrible picture of a gorgeous soon to be quilt!  Pam was working on this one and I love it and am definitely going to make one of these.

In the foreground is Pam’s Texas quilt.  Farther back is Krista’s purple, orange and green February color palette challenge.

The four patches in the front are Karla’s and there’s something about the colors she used that makes me want to grab some of those same colors and make a four patch quilt!

The stars are Sue’s January Color Palette Challenge top.  On the wall are Krista’s Orca Bay and I’m not sure what the other design is but it’s also Krista’s quilt.

I believe the front top was made by Charlene and maybe the one on top with the strips was made by Charlene and the half circles was made by Beryl.

Donna made a lot of progress on her mystery from the 2010 Shipshewana retreat.

The front two are Susan’s and the back ones were made by Wanda.

In the front is a part of Wanda’s Christmas quilt.  On the design wall are one of Liz’ blocks and those green blocks with the star in the middle  . . Cheryl?  Swooze?  Melinda?  I cannot remember who was working on those.

More pictures will be posted later!

2012 Retreat Has Ended

The 2012 retreat has ended and I hope everyone has as much fun as I did.  I know that everyone got more accomplished than I did but I was happy to talk and visit with everyone so not getting much accomplished didn’t bother me at all.  I had a fantastic time but I’m so tired and I’m sure everyone else is too.

The hotel was great.  The meeting room we used, which is the larger of their two, is upstairs and there’s no elevator but the hotel staff helped get everything upstairs and Vince came back and helped get everything downstairs today.  The hotel was clean and the staff was so helpful.  It’s one of the first times I’ve been to a retreat that we didn’t have electrical problems due to too many irons on at the same time.

It was so nice to meet so many folks that I’ve been “talking to” through the years.  We do plan to do another one in 2013.  Once the details are worked out, I’ll send the info to the quilters who were there in 2012 and give them first shot at getting a spot before opening it up to others but as soon as I know the dates, I will post them here so you can be checking your calendar and you’ll be ready to commit once the reservations are being taken.

For now . . back to real life.  I need to get things unpacked and see if I accomplished enough to even post a picture on my design wall tomorrow!

Stash Report – Week 8, 2012

There was a trip to the quilt shop.  Do I have to say more?  There was a sale and a discount  . . do I have to say more?  Pretty much everyone else bought more than I did.  Does that count?  OK . . no sympathy from this group!  I bought 15 yards and once I get it unpacked, you’ll see what a great deal I go.
