No Progress Report

More blocks were made today . . maybe 10, but I forgot to take a picture. In the process of trying to fix something I thought was an easy fix on the blog, I just messed something else up.

I’m going to bed . . I refuse to try to fix anything else ever again! :(

It Arrived!

If you’re not a canner, you won’t be impressed.

It’s the All American Canner.  The reason I wanted this canner is that it will hold 14 quarts and my other two canners will only hold 7 quarts each.  By the time the pressure builds, and then has to be held for however long, and then the pressure has to release before the canner can be opened, being able to do 14 quarts at a time vs. 7 quarts at  a time will make a huge difference for me.  Also, this canner has the regular pressure gauge, as well as the weighted gauge so it would be almost impossible to get a wrong reading on both.  There’s no gasket to replace — the lid is screwed down tight — you can see the screws on the top.

Obviously, this canner would not fit if the microwave was over the stove and it will weigh more than I was comfortable putting on the glass top stove.  I doubt the glass top would ever have generated enough heat to do the job anyway.

This is a canner I’ve been wanting for a very, very long time.  I went back on the blog this afternoon just to be sure I had mentioned it and I had, back in 2010.  It may have been discussed before then but I saw the 2010 post and didn’t go any farther back.  I’m really happy to have this canner!

Speaking of Patience . .

Sometimes I’m a patient person . . not always.  Today I am not. Since the blog is making me even more impatient than normal, let’s have a little fun.

I’m waiting on the UPS man to bring something.  It’s something I’ve wanted for a very long time.  And, if you saw my Facebook post last night, it has NOTHING to do with what Vince was hoping I’d ordered!  :)

Any guesses as to what it is?  And, if I’ve already told you, you can’t guess!

Patience Appreciated

I know the blog is misbehaving terribly.  The lady who was going to work on it started Monday as scheduled and ran into issues because of the size of my database — too many years blogging and too many large photos.  I think she figured out a solution but I’m not sure when she’ll get back to working on the blog.  Today was one of the worst days I’ve had trying to get on so I know you’re experiencing the same thing.

All I can say is . . I’m doing the best I can.  I’m about to the point of deleting everything and starting fresh but that would mean losing all the free patterns and recipes.  I think I’ll spend the rest of the day saving files . . just in case.  Something has to give here soon.

Thanks for understanding!
