Dinner Tonight

Grilled pork chops, corn on the cob, purple hull peas with okra (peas and okra from the garden).

DSC01901We set the new grill up on the front porch, which makes it so much easier to use than the old grill which was set up just out in the back on the gravel.  Not that it rains much around here but it seems like the days I wanted to grill were the days we had a chance of rain and there’s always a gusty wind blowing here so with the grill on the front porch, it’s shielded on one side from the wind and partially shielded on another side by a clump of trees that blocks the wind.

I responded to some individually who asked about the grill.  It’s an inexpensive grill from Sam’s Club.  I love that it has a propane lighter and it’s very easy to raise and lower the charcoal closer or farther from the food being grilled.  I wish it had a propane burner but it doesn’t.  I rarely use it but it would be nice to have if we lose power.  We talked about getting a Big Green Egg, and may do it some day but for the next year or so, the new grill will be just fine.
