Ravellenics Projects

If you’re not a knitter or not a member of Ravelry, well . . this post probably makes no sense.  Today it all begins.  Why do things all happen at once?  The Olympics begin so that means the Ravellenics begin.  The third and final project for Camp Loopy begins today and the third clue for the WestKnits mystery comes out today. And, there are two quilts that need to be made . . this week!

My knitting projects are all organized and ready to go . .

The one on the left is Shaw’s Cove Shawl for Camp Loopy.  Next is the Honey Cowl which is for Nicole.  Next is the socks I started for the mechanic’s wife and would like to finish those for a gift.  On the right is Cowlie for Chad.  There’s no way I’ll get them all done in two weeks but that’s my goal.

All the projects – yarn, needles and patterns – are in the cake carrier so I don’t have to search for anything . . just go from one project to another.

Good thing the garden is winding down, huh?

Your Guesses!

The things you guessed had me laughing out loud.  Here’s my responses to some of them:

  • New Truck – No . . I haven’t even thought much about a new truck lately.  We haven’t had any major projects so we haven’t really missed not having a full size truck.  Maybe in the spring I’ll get back on that bandwagon and hound Vince about buying a new pickup.
  • Laptop – I do need a new laptop but probably won’t buy one til mine quits completely and then I’ll be kicking my butt for not buying one sooner.
  • Gas stove – I’m perfectly happy with my gas stove.  When we build the new kitchen, I’ll get a 6 burner but for now, I’m so happy with having a gas stove that I’m not complaining about anything.
  • iPad, Accuquilt, Kindle – Got them already.
  • Spinning Wheel – Yes, I’d love to have one but I don’t think I have enough hours in my day to add another hobby.
  • An espresso machine – Ugh!  I don’t like anything about coffee!
  • Goats – I really would like to have a couple of goats but right now, I don’t need any more responsibility.
  • Baby furniture – Already bought the baby bed, the chest, the changing table, the mattress and the high chair.
  • Trip here for Chad & Nicole – I wish!  I imagine she’s not supposed to travel right now.
  • The Big Green Egg – Might get that some day but I’m just not sure about having to use their charcoal since we don’t have a dealer within 100 miles of us.

Here’s the winning number:

On the Needles – July 27, 2012

The knitting is about to get in high gear around here with the third project for Camp Loopy starting today, and the Ravellenics starting today.  This week I finished my Cranberry Capelet which was Project 2 for Camp Loopy.

I’m not quite finished with Clue #2 of the WestKnits Mystery but I’m getting there.

It’s kinda hard to see what it looks like since it’s all scrunched up on the needles but I’m loving it and am so glad I did it.  I’ve learned a lot and I’m getting more confidence with each new thing I learn.

What’s on your needles?
