Deep in the Heart of Texas Finished

This quilt is for the United Way auction at Vince’s work and I had promised him I’d have it finished by today . . so that was the first thing on my sewing agenda this morning.  It is done!

I love this quilt and am so glad that I made a second one for us to keep.  The fabric is from the Deep in the Heart of Texas line from Moda. The quilt is 70″ x 82″.  It’s quilted with the Square Spiral panto by Keryn Emmerson.

I love the borders!  They were cut from a piece of the same line of fabric that had wide stripes going lengthwise on the fabric.   There were several different stripes.  The little corner Texas pieces were cut from one strip.  The second top I made has a different border but it’s still the cows/cowboy theme.  What else would it be in Texas?  :)

It was a fun quilt to make and I hope it brings in a nice amount of money for United Way.

One of my favorites too! The colors are wonderful especially the burnished gold of the last border (and elsewhere). Good job!!

It is done, and it is beautiful! I can see a lot of heavy bidding going on for your quilt! It is sure to raise a lot of money. You may have just quilted yourself into a request for an annual quilt donation.
