Soctober 2, 2012

Not once did I walk into the sewing room today so I should have had plenty of knitting time.  I went to the dentist, took my Kindle, hoped to read a few minutes but before I ever sat down in the waiting room, they called me back.  From there I went to Wal-Mart, then Kroger, then home, then baked pumpkin gingerbread, then dealt with several issues that took up way too much of my time and well . . just aggravated the heck out of me but it ate into my knitting time.  Then we had a little neighborhood get together and here it is . . almost bed time and I hardly knitted any today, but I did make a little progress.

Tomorrow I hope to at least get down to the heel.  There’s quilting that needs to be done too . . we’ll see what kind of knitting report I have tomorrow evening.

Lists – Do You Make Them?

Grocery lists, “to do” lists, stops to make . . I live by lists.  I wish that I weren’t so controlled by my lists but without them, I feel totally lost.  If Vince wants to stop at Wal-Mart or the grocery store on the spur of the moment, I can hardly do it because I don’t have a list.

This morning I had to go to the dentist and was going to go to Kroger but decided to go to Wal-Mart instead because I needed toilet cleaner.  Yesterday I checked over our weekend menu and the menu for next week and made a long grocery list. During the night, I remembered two more things I wanted to fix and some things needed were not on my list.  I grabbed this envelope from the trash and by the light of the iPad, scribbled out this list.

Do you think I put toilet cleaner on my list?  No!  The entire reason for going to Wal-Mart instead of Kroger and I forgot to get the toilet cleaner.  I was able to read my writing and did get everything on both lists.

As I was leaving Wal-Mart, Vince called and told me papayas were on sale at Kroger.  Would I please go by there and get some.  I grumbled but went by Kroger, only to find out that the papayas are on the ad for the sale that begins tomorrow!

I’m home . . pumpkin gingerbread is in the oven and my house smells so good!

Don’t worry . . I’m not totally out of toilet cleaner and have already added it to my new list of things to get next time I’m a Wal-Mart.

Almost Two Months Old

Nicole’s mom was babysitting and she dressed Adalina up in some of the clothes she, Nicole’s dad and their parents wore as babies.  I never get tired of seeing pictures of her and I thought I’d share a couple with you.

They got so many pretty crocheted baby blankets as gifts.  Years and years ago I did French Handsewing and smocking and love seeing the old outfits on her.

Maybe the owl quilt doesn’t go with the vintage outfits but it was nice of Nicole’s mom to include it in a picture.

I can hardly wait to get to Missouri and see them and hold her and snuggle with her.  Seriously . . maybe I should leave here today!  🙂
