On the Needles – October 26, 2012

My pictures aren’t great because I was taking pictures of blue socks on a blue/white quilt but I was too lazy to get up and get another quilt to put over my lap.

The foot on this second blue sock is about half done.  I’ll probably finish it this weekend.  Yep, I’m running out of October before I get all my socks made for Soctober.  I still need to finish the Circle socks but we may be taking a road trip this weekend and I needed something easy to work on so I cast on yet another pair of plain socks.

In an effort to keep the stripes halfway even, I’m doing both socks at once on two circular needles. Not my favorite method to use for knitting socks but it was my only hope of getting these stripes right and I still am not sure I did it.

What’s on your needles?

Now that looks like it will knit up into some really interestingly striped socks! Can’t wait to see how they turn out.

I love it when you also include the yarn ball in the pictures of your socks. I wish I could whip them out as quickly as you do because I don’t want to wear store bought socks anymore.

More power to you for learning the two socks on two circs method. I use two circs for one sock. I tried the two sock method but it just didn’t “stick” in my head.

Very pretty colors in the yarn. I don’t knit, but I love to see all the socks.

OK, so I’m not very smart when it comes to hens….but why are they sitting now? Not all summer long? Is there a certain time you stop collecting eggs so that you’ll get chicks? We have chickens down the road but there is never anyone there to ask!
    Nice socks…love the colors.

the fact that you care that your stripes match-up makes me smile. my sister and i were at a quilt shop in lancaster last week and they were selling these hand made socks that weren’t even the same yarn, but complimentary colors and my one nephew buys a pair of sock that don’t even match, on purpose. i think its ‘in’ to have non matching socks. my goal this year to learn how to knit socks.
