One Pair of Mittens

They were so easy!  I was so afraid of the thumb.  It doesn’t look easy and when I’ve read instructions, it seemed confusing but it was quite simple and the super bulky yarn and huge needles made the knitting go so quickly.

Yesterday morning the appliance store called and said they wouldn’t be here till Wednesday (today) but I had no idea when the grill delivery guy was coming so I stayed in the house by the phone.  The cell phone doesn’t work in the sewing room and I wasn’t sure if Vince had given them the sewing room number so I figured if I wanted the grill delivered, I’d better sit in the house so . . I knitted.

My First Mittens

They even fit nicely and they feel soft as felt.  Some day it may get cold and they’ll feel really good.  They were fun to make . . it’s always nice to make something that quickly.

I have two more skeins of the super bulky to use for other mittens which will be gifts.  I can get those done since it hardly took an hour to get one mitten done.

I do so admire your knitting talent. It seems to me that after knitting socks, mittens should be simple, but I’m only guessing. Love your mittens – you did great!

Somedays I shouldn’t read your blog – I’ve been coveting Rasta yarn for those mittens ever since Sherri posted them on her blog – you pushed me over the edge! I’ve ordered two skeins of the yarn and downloaded the pattern. My yarn stash is beginning to rival my fabric stash.

I bought chunky yarn at Hobby Lobby today…I doubt I can get these figured out, but I am going to try. I bet it has been 20 years since I have knitted anything! You’ve done post about items needed for quilting….can you possibly do a blog post about different things regarding knitting? Please.

I like those mittens. Wish I wasn’t running out of time. Wonder if I could get those finished by Friday for a gift exchange. (But what about cleaning house?) I didn’t hear that.

I have been knitting mittens all week, I made a pair for myself first and now I making small mittens to be my tag on gifts and will make a mitten garland.
