Half of January – History!

The first half of January, 2013 is history.  Have you accomplished half of what’s on your January “Get it Done” list?  Just thought I’d ask! :)

I’m ok with where I am.  My January list is:

  1. Margie’s top quilted, bound, labeled and mailed.  Done!
  2. Three (3) QOV tops made using the New Year’s Day Sit & Sew pattern.  Two are Done and the blocks are all made for the third.
  3. Section 1 of the Comfort & Joy top done.  Not Done.
  4. Blocks made for Nicole’s New Beginnings quilt.  Almost halfway done.

The purpose of a challenge is to challenge yourself . . push just a little harder.  Get the things done on your list . . you can do it.  I surely hope I can too!  :)

I actually do have the batik quilt bound and all the snowball blocks made for the QWL (quilted with love) swap, except to be pressed and trimmed. then I can put a done aside of them as well! That will happen today after I get back from doing stuff with Dad and w work on the yard! maybe tackle the last half the list starting tomorrow! It’s a good challenge you put out to us!

Two and a “thith” checked off my list. The easiest of course. The mystery quilt is bound, the faux applique block is made for the new Christmas quilt and I quilted a few stitches in my DWR. That doesn’t get counted unless I can update my sidebar icon to actually show progress. The big challenge is at least up on my design wall taunting me. So, naturally I joined another BOM and made the block and made a block from a quilt-a-long I was doing last year.

I actually blogged about this a few days ago… I am halfway done with my list… :)

My gal for this month was to get some feeling in my fingers so that I could sew something . . . Anything! The other night I paired jelly roll strips to make Candy Dots and Boxes. I sewed five strip sets together so I am progressing in the right direction! Thanks for always encouragingly to meet our goals.

Well, I did get 3 of my 4 done. Made the pillowcases for Moss House, made a kids quilt for Moss House and have granddaughters quilt for Christmas waiting for borders. I was only going to get material together to start this, but was given an easy peasy quilt pattern to try, came home and in a couple of hours her quilt was almost done. Need to get a yard of material to finish a border and it’s a flimsy!!! Now I need to get your Mystery Quilt started. Oh Thank God I still have 15 days left in the month.!!

  13. 13

Yes, I have finished two, and begun the third, which is “straightening” one bookcase of fabric. I immediately got distracted by a set of blocks that were in there. Those are now made into a neonatal quilt top, and I need to get back to the bookcase!

  14. 14

I have worked on 3 of 4 but finished 0 so far!

  15. 15

1 of 4 is completely finished, two are more than halfway, and one I haven’t started. The one that isn’t started will be quick. The two halfway finished ones I’m going to need most of the month to complete, but I’m on track!

  18. 18

I am buying window coverings and getting the quilt room in order (still looking for some rulers etc.). Surely I can start soon. Blog is working. I’m ready for some quilting, just a lot of “stuff” going on with house. I think I am whining!
