Those knitting links had my mind on knitting this morning. I clicked on blogs, I drooled over the beautiful projects. One thing led to another and I was buying patterns on Ravelry and might have (not saying for sure) ordered some yarn! I may have to re-think whether those “What’s on the Needles” posts continue. They’re not real good for my bank account!
After checking and re-checking to see what everyone else was knitting, I made myself sit down at the sewing machine. When I put the block on the design wall, it wasn’t quite right!
Does one of those setting triangles look like maybe I wasn’t thinking about what I was doing? At least I’m consistent!
Both blocks I worked on this morning were wrong. Wish me better luck this afternoon. Or, let’s just hope I forget about knitting for a while and get the sewing tasks done.
Ever have days like this when you do more incorrectly than what you do correctly?

Well I commend you for going back to sewing this afternoon! I would have said to myself ” self, today is not a day to sew! Buh-bye sewing machine!” Hello knitting!
Whoops! Yes, I have days like that. Sometimes it’s a string of days, where I fail at every recipe I cook… Who leaves baking powder out of baking powder biscuits? Apparently, I do!
I really think that there is a season for everything. This is my favorite time of year to knit! Come spring – my mind turns to gardening, summer days we are so busy, fall is also a nice outdoor time and then there is Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yup, I would say – this is my favorite time of year to knit! Sooner or later your season will change too and then your mind will be fully occupied by something else, until the knitting season returns! Cheers! Evelyn
Oh yes I have those days.. usually walk away for a while… I got lost in those knitting links this morning… I have never knitted a sock and came really close to ordering needles and yarn and then I stopped myself… I can’t do anymore than I already do… maybe someday….
There are those days-sometimes I can’t even make the simplest block and have it come out right. When I used to cross stitch or do hardanger and things started to go downhill, I would stop. Hated ripping! And sometimes I can rip out more knitting than I care to admit! Won’t even talk some about some of those cooking goofs!
AhThose 3 steps forward and 2 back , I know them well..
Funny how so many talk about time of year.. I love the winter for crocheting afghans they are so coy warm to have on your lap.,.I also like to stitch binding down.. all sorts of hand work.. but if I am having a problem I walk away and do something else.. tomorrow is always a better da.y theory
Well I worked all, afternoon on a 3″ pp block for a valentine card. Forget it, don’t like the first half so thinking about scratching that whole thing. Lol ai don’t do that often but hey I have too many other things to get done and Jan is half gone!
higs,
Betty
Maybe because I am looking at your picture on my iPad,but I don’t see seam allowances.
LOL i think we all have days like that. Best thing to do is either take a walk , pick up the mail, and then get back to it, or else go take a nap. Either one will refresh you so that you can tackle the job again. Just be glad that you have a design wall so you can catch these things before the block goes into the quilt!
That’s me ALL of the time!
days?????? try weeks…
So funny! Well, only because it makes me think of one night last week when I “accidentally” made a fairly large cocktail to take to my sewing room with me. As the night wore on, I was having a great ol’ time – cutting fabric… The next day, when I went to sew some blocks together, I came to realize that many of my “cuts” were off. Thankfully, I’d made them too large, rather than too small. Phew!
Whoops!
Just recently I had to frog a piece of knitting due to a dropped stitch near the beginning, and then I had to frog a large section of crocheting due to a skipped stitch. I guess I shouldn’t stitch when I’m sick! lol
Hi Judy! I think we all have those days!
Sometimes, I shake myself up by the bootstraps and tell me to smarten up and pay attention and sometomes it is something very easy to fix!
This will be a beautiful quilt!
Take care, Leslie
Yes, I certainly do have those days. But your quilt is going to be beautiful when you get it done.
I actually like the error! i saw it right away, but it kind of grows on me! Still this is one of my fav quilts I’ve seen you make.
