My socks today are the first ones I ever made using Caper Sock by String Theory. The color is Mardi Gras and since Mardi Gras is week after next and all my friends in Louisiana are talking about their favorite King Cakes, I thought I’d just get out my Mardi Gras socks and wear them and before you tell me to do it . . yes, I can make a King Cake and yes, I might make one, but I’d rather go get one and get any flavor filling I want! And then I’d get some boiled crawfish but . . I’m in Texas so I’ll just not think about King Cakes and crawfish!

I can’t show you my socks. I haven’t cast on the first stitch yet. But I’ve gotten to the point in the Craftsy class where the teacher is teaching the first of 3 toes, so I’m going to be trying that out today or tomorrow.
Wish me luck!
Well I can’t knit anything but a straight row and that was a long time ago trying that but I love to look at all these socks. I’ve never worn any handmade socks- they look so comfy though!
Laissez les bon temps rouler, cher!!
Mine are still black!!
I’m still waiting on my knitting needles, etc. that I ordered online to arrive.
Good news though – I found LOCALLY a very nice lady who has a yarn shop – and TEACHES knitting, crochet as well as tatting, weaving and even spinning!!!! I can see this will be the beginning of a long and ongoing association! LOL
Love those socks- they are so happy!
I love the fun color of your socks!
What is a “King Cake”? Never heard of it. Not a Yankee thing I guess.
I can’t show my socks either – YET!!
I have become a Ravelry addict. You are an enabler Judy!!
