You know what I really like? I like it when someone is going to buy me a gift and they take the time to know what I like. Several times, blog readers have sent me yarn and almost every time, it’s been a yarn that I’ve mentioned that I love, and often it was quite some time before but they remembered what I like. Often, it’s been a color that they know I love. Gifts just seem to matter more . . not based on how much they cost, but based on the thought that went into them.
My aunt brought me a gift.
Not only is the bag so cute . . but look what’s inside . .
She remembered how much I love these . . and how long has it been since I mentioned them?
Oh, how I love Elmer’s Gold Brick Eggs. I don’t like chocolate and cannot explain why I love these things so much . . but I do. So far, I’ve had one-half of one! Lucky for me, they freeze (and thaw) well.
I’ll have to share a few with Mrs. Neighbor. I’m betting she will love these things as much as I do.
I’m thankful for my gift but I’m also thankful for an aunt who remembered something I really, really like!
Yesterday we drove them around Lake Brownwood and even though the lake is terribly low, there’s more water in it than there was when we were living at the lake. They’ve seen a jack rabbit, a cottontail, of course they met Miss Hattie and Mean Chicken. The cows came by yesterday and they watched Vince give them cubes. They met Mr. and Mrs. Neighbor.
They seem to like it here and I think they’ll be coming back to visit!
