One thing for sure . . I haven’t seen much sunshine in the past 24 hours and that’s pretty rare for this area. Last night, last I checked, our low was supposed to be about 46 and feel like 35. Apparently that’s not unusual in central Texas, but it surely did seem cold after the rather warm days we’ve been having. And, we got some much needed rain. Our rain gauge is down . . a casualty of the fence building project, so I’m going to have to count on my neighbors to tell me how much rain we got til I can get another gauge up. It’s funny how mindful we all are of the amount of rain we get . . I guess because of the drought. Or, maybe it’s just old age. I think my grandparents did the same thing. Wish that little memory had not come to my mind.
But the “sunshine” I was talking about is this quilt.
This drawing is hideous. It’s ok if you think so too. But, there’s something about it that I like. Remember how hideous it is because I’m going to keep playing with it til I make it work. I love this border, though probably not for this quilt. It’s the same border I was playing with on whatever drawing I was working on last. I love the yellow and lime and pink together. I’m going to make this work . . some how some day.
That, my friends, is what I do late at night when I should be sleeping . . I design quilts that should never be seen by the public!
