Whew! The weekend is over for all intents and purposes. Once it gets dark on Sunday evening, our work is mostly done . . unless you want to talk about the fact that it’s 10 p.m. here and I just remembered the sheets for our bed are still in the washer. Ever do that? Yes, I have one set of sheets because I don’t like sheets that have been in the drawer or closet.
This morning I could hardly wait to get into the garden and get those buckets off my tomatoes and peppers and get the tomatoes re-staked . . again! Done! So happy to have my garden back to normal and so hoping we don’t have any more night temps below 40º.
While I was working in the garden, Vince got Louise, Houdi and Gracie moved.
Then it was time for our daily trip to Home Depot . . seriously! Why? I don’t know . . I’ve given up trying to figure it out and I just go along for the ride. I went into the garden center and bought five more butterfly bushes. Oh, almost forgot — got a dill plant too.
Vince got the clothesline poles in the ground.
The chickens have been making a mess of the area on the side of the shop. Vince went to the rock pile (we have several from leftover rocks when our house and the big ranch house were built) and got some rocks and tried to cordon off the area.
Yes, the weekend has pretty much come to a close. In five short days, we’ll have another action packed weekend. Can’t wait!

I spent my Sunday cooking… homemade refried beans, homemade pico de gallo, homemade tortillas, homemade coleslaw… My husband fried up some fish and we had fish tacos, refried beans and homemade margaritas for Cindo de Mayo dinner. After making homemade tortillas for the first time, I WILL NEVER buy storebought again!

It was midnight Saturday night as I went to turn on the bedroom light to go to bed when I realized the sheets were in the washer. UGH! I am like you and don’t like sheets that have been in the linen closet, but was thankful I had one set that I had not given away. Threw them on, snuggled in and heard husband say, ” the sheets smell funny”. I told him it was this or wait for the dryer to finish. He figured they weren’t TOO bad. But first thing next morning they were changed!

I totally agree with the closet smell that stored sheets get. I visited my parents and my mom had put “fresh” sheets on the bed. I dealt with it but told her if she has other company she should run the sheets through the washer and dryer to make them fresh for the company. Wish I knew of a way to avoid that,. I have had the sheets in the washer at 10 too. Good thing they dry fast.
