Have you ever truly had a love/hate relationship with something? For me, right now it’s with Dreambird! I’m really not a very good knitter. Following directions (for anything) is hard for me. I can wing it and usually get by, whether it’s cooking or knitting . . not so much with driving!
The first time I saw it, I said “I have to make that!” The more I looked at it and the more I read about other folks’ projects, the more I realized it was beyond my skill level. Then, my friend, Denise, caught Dreambird Fever too. She’s a very good knitter, though. She can do this and not say bad words. I probably cannot.
When reading through the project notes, some people made this in a week! Some people are making it two or three or more times. I have to be able to figure this out . . right?
But since I first saw the pattern, I’ve ordered just about every skein of yarn with long color changes that I could find. Something around here has to work! It will be after Camp Loopy before I can even think about starting it. Camp Loopy runs through August. Maybe this can be my “After the Garden/After Camp Loopy” project . . unless something a bit more intriguing comes along and diverts my interest or . . unless Denise causes me to choose something else! :)
I printed the pattern and it is 22 pages. Vince said “You’re going to knit something that has a 22 page pattern?” I said . . no, I’m just printing it to add to my collection . . which very well may be the case.
