Hello. My name is Judy. I have a serious problem with buying yarn!
Really! My yarn is out of control. There’s more than I’ll ever use. I don’t even remember what I bought most of it for but worse, most of it was just purchased without having a pattern in mind. Every bag I open, every drawer I open . . yarn! This is a small part of the yarn I found that I had totally forgotten about.
No more! Things are changing around here.
Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time matching up yarn to patterns. I will buy yarn in the future but it will be yarn I need and yes . . even with all the yarn around here, I sometimes need yarn. Most everything I have is one skein of sock yarn and some patterns need more than one skein or a different weight of yarn. But, no more indiscriminate buying and when I buy, it will be for a specific pattern and the yarn will be put with the pattern. I will still buy for quarterly challenges and Camp Loopy. Have I said all this before? Sure sounds familiar!
My queue has been updated . . somewhat. Patterns are matched up with yarn for 14 projects, and if you count the Dreambird, there are 15 projects. I didn’t list socks as projects because I’ll always have a pair or two of socks in progress.
Projects are in bags with the pattern and the yarn and labeled.
The project bin is overflowing a bit. I think I need to knit faster or get a bigger box.
I’m sticking with my queue .. really! As soon as I finish Hitchhiker, which I hope happens this weekend, I’m starting Coco’s Pearls.
I’m off to a good start with this yarn organizing . . don’t you think?
