The best part of the weekends for me would be the breakfasts. I love a good breakfast. On weekends, we eat breakfast late . . maybe around 9, and then have a piece of fruit or snack if we get hungry but then we eat dinner around 3 or 4 and I’m done in the kitchen!
This morning we had omelettes, sausage, toast and raspberry jam. My toast and jam didn’t make it onto the plate in time for the picture!
Yesterday we had fried eggs, bacon, grits and biscuits. Don’t think I’m being a hog by having three biscuits. They were little ones. I’m so loving my new biscuit cutters. I was able to use up every piece of biscuit dough by using the smaller size cutters, along with the regular, larger cutter.
See the little biscuits wedged in there with the regular sized ones?
They all baked up just fine . . yummy as usual.
Weekday breakfasts aren’t nearly as good. A typical weekday breakfast might be:
- Cereal, Fruit
- Muffin or bagel, Fruit
- Toast, Yogurt
Those breakfasts I suppose are much healthier and quicker to fix . . gets Vince out the door and on his way to work and me out to the garden or into the sewing room but I love the bigger weekend breakfasts.
Five more weekday breakfasts and we’ll have our weekend breakfasts again! :)
